Convinced that she is the "biggest and baddest" guard dog around, Jezzi's bark is easily distinguished among those of her sisters (two Boxers and a Beagle) whenever someone new comes to the door or appears "threatening" to her people. But this wasn't always the case...
Jezzi was rescued from Hurricane Isabel. She had been left outside at only a couple weeks old. Due to the conditions, her mother began to chew on her puppy's nose, ears and paws. When Jezzi was rescued her tail and rear legs had gaping wounds and were severely infected. Her tail was eventually amputated.
Fighting one infection after another, Jezzi was on antibiotics for the first eight months of her life. Fortunately, the medicine - and lots and lots of love - were a success, and Jezzi pulled through with surprisingly little scarring. And although the vet did not expect it, almost all the hair on Jezzi's legs and body came back!
A treasured (and, yes, spoiled) family member, Jezzi rules with love, wet kisses and lots of snuggling.
